- Student Email
Your GSU Email Account is your official method of communication with faculty, staff, and university offices. You must download the Microsoft Authenticator App to log into your email account.
How to Access Your GSU Email Account
- Click on the website, then click the Email Button, or go to .
- Enter your email address and your password.
Your email address is in the format of lastname.firstnamemiddleinitial@gsu.glenville.edu
Example: If your name is John P. Smith your email address would be smith.johnp@gsu.glenville.edu
Contact the Office of Technology for assistance with your password.
- You will be prompted to download the Microsoft Authenticator app. This app provides an extra layer of security for your GSU account by verifying your identity when you sign in. Using Microsoft Authenticator helps protect your email and other university resources from unauthorized access.

- Connect to Shentel Wireless
Shentel Wireless provides wireless internet access for students on campus.
Register Your Device
- Go to .
- Under New User, enter your Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø email address.
- Select Register.
- Open your GSU email account.
- Open the email from Shentel.
- Follow the instructions in the email to register your device.
Find Your Wi-Fi MAC Address
You will need your device’s Wi-Fi MAC Address to complete registration.
Android Devices
- Open Settings.
- Select About Phone.
- Select Status.
- Scroll down to Wi-Fi MAC Address.
iPhone Devices
- Open Settings.
- Select General.
- Select About.
- Scroll down to Wi-Fi Address.
Complete Registration
- Return to the Shentel registration website.
- Enter your device’s Wi-Fi MAC Address.
- Submit your registration.
Important Information for iPhone Users
If you are using an iPhone, turn off the rotating private Wi-Fi address.
- Open Settings.
- Select Wi-Fi.
- Select the blue information icon next to StudentWireless.
- Find Private Wi-Fi Address.
- Change the setting from Rotating to Fixed.

Use your GSU credentials to log in to campus computers and access the resources you need for your classes, email, and other university services.
If your account becomes locked, please contact the Office of Technology.
How to Log-In
- At the login screen, enter your username. Your username is the last 8 digits of your student ID number.
- Enter your password. Contact the Office of Technology for assistance with your password.
- Press Enter on your keyboard.
- When you are finished using the computer, sign out of your account.

EdNet is Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø's student information system. Students use EdNet to register for classes, view grades, check schedules, review account balances, pay tuition, view financial aid information, and check for holds or other important account information.

- Click the Enter Secure Area link

Your username is the last 8 digits of your student ID number.

First-Time Login
If you are logging in for the first time, you will be prompted to set up your security questions.

Brightspace is the learning management system where you will access your course(s).
Helpful Tips
- Log in to Brightspace every day.
- Turn on notifications so you don't miss important messages or due dates.
- Check assignment due dates regularly and submit work before deadlines.
- Review your grades and instructor feedback throughout the semester.
- Read course announcements carefully.
- Make sure uploaded assignments are the correct file and successfully submitted.
- Use a reliable internet connection when taking quizzes or exams.
- Log out when using a shared or public computer.
How to Access Your Brightspace Account
- Go to www.Glenville.edu, click on Current Students, then click on the Brightspace Button
- Click on Log in to Brightspace
- Login using your username and password and click Sign In
Your username is the last 8 digits of your student ID number.

- Once you log in to Brightspace, you may see your courses listed but grayed out. Courses become available to students the weekend before the semester begins.
If you do not see your courses, make sure you have selected the correct semester at the top of the My Courses widget. If you are viewing the wrong semester, your courses will not appear.

Degree Works is Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø's degree audit and academic planning system. Students use Degree Works to track progress toward graduation and ensure they are completing the courses required for their degree program.
What Can You Do in Degree Works?
- View completed and remaining degree requirements
- See which courses apply to your major, minor, and general education requirements
- Monitor your GPA and earned credit hours
- Plan future semesters using the academic planner
- Track progress toward graduation
- Work with your academic advisor to stay on track
How to Access Degree Works
- Go to and click on Current Students, and click the Button
- Click the Enter Secure Area link
- Enter your username and pin.
Your username is the last 8 digits of your student ID number.

- Click on the Student tab
- Click the Degree Works – My Degree Audit link
- Sign in with your username and password and click Continue. NOTE: This password is different than the one in step 3.
Your username is the last 8 digits of your student ID number.
Your Password is in the format of a capital letter of your first name + your birthday (DDMMYYYY) + a lowercase letter for your last name
Example: John P. Smith Born 02/14/2007 John's password would be J14022007s

Brightspace Pulse allows you to access course information, assignments, announcements, and grades from your mobile device.
Download and Set Up Brightspace Pulse
- Download the Brightspace Pulse app from your device's app store.
- Open the app.
- When prompted to find your school, enter:
WV Higher Education Network
- Select Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø.
- Log in using your Brightspace credentials.
Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft Outlook provides access to your GSU email account.
Download and Set Up Microsoft Outlook
- Download the Microsoft Outlook app from your device's app store.
- Open the app.
- Sign in using your GSU email address and password
- Follow any prompts to complete setup.
Microsoft Authenticator
Microsoft Authenticator helps secure your GSU account through multi-factor authentication (MFA).
Download and Set Up Microsoft Authenticator
- Download the Microsoft Authenticator app from your device's app store.
- Open the app.
- Sign in using your GSU email credentials when prompted during account setup.
- Follow the instructions provided to complete the verification process.
